News Asia24 Desk: It is not enough to know the total population, it is important to know the classification and data of different age groups, said the Minister of Local Government Md. Tajul Islam

He said that in determining any policy, the information for which type of people that policy is being taken, for which age group of people and for how many people is being taken is also very important.

He said these things at a function organized on the occasion of National Birth and Death Registration Day-2023 in Dhaka today, Friday (October 6).

He further said that registration of births and deaths is important in formulating policies, as the needs of the elderly are not the same as those of the youth.

Again, the needs of youth and the needs of children and adolescents are not the same.

Birth and death registration data is required by the government to identify the needs of people of different ages, castes and creeds and take action accordingly.

He identified the problems of birth and death registration and assured to solve these problems quickly and asked the representatives of the local government department and other relevant ministries to work for it.

The minister said that there may be deviations in the expected service in registration of births and deaths. By solving those problems, we will get rid of the suffering in the civil service.
