Bangladesh is the 33rd member of the World Nuclear Club

News Asia24Desk: Bangladesh has become the 33rd member of the nuclear club of the world and has become a nuclear power producing country.

Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) fuel (nuclear fresh fuel) uranium has been handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Russia’s State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) Director General Alexei Likhachev handed over the uranium at the graduation ceremony of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant on Thursday (October 5).

Through this, Bangladesh became a nuclear power producing country and became the 33rd member of the World Nuclear Club.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was connected virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban while Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin was connected from Moscow.

Meanwhile, International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi was connected virtually from Vienna, Austria.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin spoke on the occasion.

Likhachev was at the main venue in Rooppur. From there, after giving permission, he handed over the certificate to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, his representative at Ganobhaban.
