NewsAsia24 Desk: Former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger is no more.. He was 100 years old at the time of his death.
He died at his home in Connecticut, USA on Wednesday local time.
Before becoming Secretary of State, Kissinger was a professor at Harvard. Later became the 56th US Secretary of State.
He was one of the architects of the US-Soviet war.
In Germany he was Born on May 27, 1923 in a Jewish family . His family fled Germany during the Nazi regime to New York, USA. He grew up there. Then in 1943 he became a US citizen. And served three years in the US Army and later in the Counter Intelligence Corps.

Henry Kissinger was well known for one of his comments in the history of Bangladesh. On December 6, 1971, in a meeting on the situation in South Asia in Washington, when the question of food aid to Bangladesh came up, Kissinger raised the issue of the ‘basket case’. Since then the word basket case or bottomless basket has become Bangladeshi.
He also sided with Pakistan during the Great Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971.
